Yes, all us mullets are winning; thanks for the donation.

I'm not sure I understand your question about limits. If you actually meant limits, they're all fine as long as you have the appropriate bankroll. If the variance is bothering you it's a sign that you may be playing too high for your comfort level.

I've lost a lot at it. I suggest not even getting involved but if you have to, stick to very low limits. $2-4 or $3-6 at most. Beyond that you will start losing a lot. Low buy-in torunaments can be fun also - anything with a buy-in of $20 and under.

doylesroom - deposited 100 and ended up losing it
bodog- deposited 100 and ended up losing it
true poker- deposited 100, lost 50 and left (shit software)
absolute- deposited 100, left with 200
ultimate- deposited 100, left with 200
pacific- deposited 100, left with 200
full tilt- deposited 100, ended up losing it all

minus 50 bucks, havent played online in a while.
played low stakes limit cash games, limit sit and gos, limit multi table trys, no limit sit and gos, low stakes no limit cash games and no limit multi table trnys.

won some nice coin playing the 20 player trnys at doyles and ended up pissing it away at small stakes no limit cash games. for whatever reason, have had more success playing limit sit/gos & limit tryns online, and more success playing no limit at local games and casino, cash and trnys.

IntertopsPoker is the only place I've made $$. DoylesRoom players are EXTREMELY loose. Was up a nice amount in their ring games but as soon as I hit their tounies...bye bye :money8:
I'm still playing at intertopspoker and don't remember when the last time I deposited. Unfortunetly, they have been bought out by PartyPoker, and their software is no longer available.

ive found that at 3-6 i cant win because i tend to play relatively tight and every time i have a good hand someone crushes me on the river

5-10 i can hold my own as not intimidated and make money - but because its a small amount get kind of bored - just play to win 100-300 a day

10-20 the variances really come into play here and its very hard to control - ie some days you get all the breaks with players folding and its easy to really make 1000 or more but the flip side is on a bad day it doesnt matter what you have you are beaten

so for me day in day out at 5-10 you can make money

under that you seem to lose to inferior cards and above that the profit and loss swings become uncontrollable

bottom line with rakeback you could grind a living from online poker but pure cash - im not sure theres many people disciplined enough to make it

in my opinion gl

Hmmm.....i play at absolute and am down alot in my first 1 month of playing. It's very tough..i think you make a nice hit when somebody messes up..just like in sports....a player makes a mistake and the opponent takes advantage. The other day pre flop guy went all in..i had AA i went all in..he had pp J's...i won...what a nice advantage that was. I see many lose money..me included to the flushes....i got caught up in the excitement of AA and lost to a flush...what made me so mad was hit pocket cards..A/6 suited...and i raised preflop to 9 dollars and he calls with that. I guess with bonuses/Rakeback..if you play break even poker you can make money from that alone. To all out there..check out some of the casino bonuses..100/100 playing basic strategy blackjack..house will have less then 1 percent edge. starluck/planetluck..i will be doing so myself

i made a deposit of $400 at bodog in december ihave won close to $11,000 playing 95% cash games.[1-2 nlhe]. i'n very conservative and like to play the games that have the highest preflop%. players on that site are pretty bad. played on party a little but only the tournies and i've made a little. i think internet is juiced and only play my biggest hands and i play them very aggressively. i trap and slowplay rarely b/c of the ignorance of most internet players.come play cash games there the water is nice. just know there are horrible suckouts there just like the other sites. :drink:

At Bodog the limit ring games are 10, 6, or 2 player. The PL and NL ring games are 9 player. The SnGs are 10, 6, or 2 player. There are no short Omaha tables so fixed limit is 10; PL is 9. Stud seats 8.

I make most of my money as a prop player. Did you know only 7-8% of online poker players actually are in the black, this was documented by ESPN columnist interviewing a view major Poker Networks. I have been working as a prop player in the industry for over 4yrs+ and I know for a fact, you need rake rebate, or prop pay in order to help beat the game when times are tough.

Anyone interested check it out:

sit n gos

I am a poor cash player mainly because maniacs can do quite well there. But at sit n gos I have averaged a 60% return over the past 3 months since I started, about 500 games in total.

For every $10 I lay out in entry fees to $10, $20 and $50 events I get back $6 on average. Have had no major wins - nothing over $100 - just a consistent record of making the last 3, and a 50% record of winning when I make the last 3.

You're a monster. Move up.

A 60% ROI is the heater to end all heaters. If these are your first 500 SnGs I'd get ready for a correction to the mean. A 20% ROI is very, very good over the long term. Best of luck; I hope your good fortune continues.

I'm making over $100 per hour.

The main trick (of course) is to play well.

Another is that live action is more dependable than tournaments.

Tournaments are a hard way to make money. Although many do playing sit & goes. It's just too hard to cash. And the sample size to really know if you're doing well takes too long to obtain--many years.

I play over 310 hands per hour (multitable). There are swings of course. But at that rate a bad losing streak might be a month. In a live casino game maybe 6 months. In tournaments, several years.

Yet another trick is to have a bankroll large enough to handle the swings. At 2/4 holdem at least $1000, $2000 even better. The way you get this is play small and pay your dues. Not only will your bankroll grow, but you will gain much needed experience.

Finally, you should be reading the best books on the subject. Start with those published by 2+2. In fact there are only a handful of books not published by 2+2 that are any good. Many will do more harm than good.

Nobody is there to give you their money. You have to work hard to get it (Actually most ARE giving away their money, learn how to get your share).

If you are not willing to do what it takes then you will be among the 90% or so who loses online. And as another poster said, thanks for the donation.:drink:
